UPS Ground Shipping Map
***New Policy Effective 10-1-2018***
Due to rate changes by Fedex we will be discontinuing our relationship with Fedex. If specific shipping instructions are not on the purchase order or "Best Way" we will ship UPS Ground. Any other service requested will require the customer to schedule pick up once the package is ready.
All shipping discrepancies must be reported to PIONEER upon receipt. If your package is damaged upon receipt you must advise the carrier immediately. All packages are shipped FOB shipping point. If a package is shipped on PIONEER shipping account the package is insured for declared value. If the package is shipped Collect or Third Party all claims and credits must be handled by the customer with the carrier.
UPS Claims
All loss and damage claims must be reported to UPS immediately and the receiver must abide by UPS guide lines. UPS reserves the right to inspect any damaged packages. All packaging must be maintained until the claim is completed or UPS will deny the claim. The receiver must supply pictures of the packaging and label if requested by UPS. Any deviation from UPS guide lines are at the receivers expense, Pioneer will not be responsible if UPS guidelines are not met for any and all claims.
Pioneer is happy to help with processing claims but ultimately it is the receivers responsibility to report the damage, maintain the packaging and cooperate until the claim is complete.
Shipping Un-Insured or No Declared Value
- We have received a request on your purchase orders to ship without insurance or no declared value.
- UPS loss or damage policies are:
- “if any damage or loss occurs during shipment it is the shipping company’s responsibility to replace the items if no insurance is obtained at the time of shipment”.
- This means if we ship without insurance we are responsible to replace the item at our cost including freight charges. Due to the shipping company’s policies, all shipments leaving PIONEER are fully insured for the net cost of the shipment. If you customer is demanding we ship without insurance we will require the form below filled out or a letter stating:
- “The Customer or Distributor will be 100% responsible for all loss or damage to any package after it is picked up from PIONEER N.A.’s shipping dock. The Customer or Distributor will pay in full for any invoice of loss or damaged items and pay for any and all replacements including freight cost”.
- Once we receive this letter we will be happy to proceed in shipping your orders without insurance or no declared value (see form below).
LTL Shipping
- 3rd Party LTL companies may or may not have insurance, depending on how the account is created. If you go to Freightquote.com or similar service the quoted amounts are normally "no insurance". Many shipments have a greater value than the standard insurance but since we cannot see the 3rd party settings we have no idea if enough insurance is applied.
- Customers want us to ship on their LTL accounts with their LTL carrier. We are happy to comply but we need the shipment insured for full value.
- The Problem:
- We cannot add or change insurance for declared value on a 3rd Party LTL Account.
This must be done by the account holder.
- Solution #1:
- The account holder increases the insurance, schedules a pickup and forwards the BOL (Bill of Lading) to sales@pioneerNA.com.
- Solution #2:
- The customer supplies a signed & Dated letter stating (or use the letter attached):
- "The Customer will be 100% responsible for all loss or damage to PO# ********* after it is picked up from PIONEER N.A.’s shipping dock. The Customer or Distributor will pay in full for any invoice of loss or damaged items and pay for any and all replacements including freight cost within terms from the first shipping date”.
- Solution #3:
- Have Pioneer book and ship on our account.
- Example:
- Think about a shrink machine, 70 lbs + pallet, $3995 list but standard UPS insurance is $25 per pound, if it is damaged we get $1750 and we have to pay for the replacement. Now consider CAT40 holders cost per pound, collets cost per pound or rotary tables.
- Once we receive this letter we will be happy to proceed in shipping your orders without insurance or no declared value (see form below).
International Shipping
- All International Shipments will be fully insured and the value of the shipment will be on the Commercial Invoice and paperwork required.
- UPS loss or damage policies are:
- “if any damage or loss occurs during shipment it is the shipping company’s responsibility to replace the items if no insurance is obtained at the time of shipment”.
- This means if we ship without insurance we are responsible to replace the item at our cost including freight charges. Due to the shipping company’s policies, all shipments leaving PIONEER are fully insured for the net cost of the shipment.
